Sanjay possesses a remarkable ability to connect with employees, their families, and external stakeholders. During his second tenure at Hindustan Zinc Limited at Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, (2012-2016), addressing employee dissatisfaction and retaining young engineers hired through centralized campus placements were among his primary responsibilities.

Through consistent feedback and dialogue with employees and their families, Sanjay and his team introduced several innovative programs such as HR-Shubchintak, Abhinandan, E-appreciate, Town Hall Meet, Safar Ab Tak, Khula Akash, Ras Bhadai, Coffee with Hubby, Parent’s Paradise, HR Aapke Prangan Mai, Mansoon Maniya, Sanjha Chulha, Suraksha Chaupal, ‘Joy of Giving Week (JOGW)’, and celebration of achievements. Sanjay also conceived and directed a short film titled “Abhivyakti” showcasing employee engagement initiatives at CLZS. These initiatives significantly impacted employee satisfaction and retention, with new recruits showing a preference for assignments at this plant.
